The Brazilians do it AGAIN!

The Brazilian team Luigui Malandro and Dirceu Nogueira, once again took the UK Footvolley Champ title for another year. They nearly lost a set to England No1's James Titley and David Donkin in an exciting final that kept the spectators on the edge of their deck chairs.

The final scores were very close with the England team taking a clear lead at the start of the first game but the Brazilians came back with an 18-16 final score line in the first set followed by an 18-14 in the second.

The England team were sandwiched by Brazilians with Andre Mendonca and Vinny Martins taking third place.

Nick Dugdale-Moore, President of Footvolley UK, said "The Brits are certainly keeping the Brazilians on their toes. They have been training really hard lately and it certainly shows. I wouldn't be surprised if the 2009 Championships have the England team in 1st place."

Spencer Mintram, director of Yellowave Beach Sports, said: "What a tournament! Great weather, amazing play and some fantastic entertainment, with free foot massgae, Barefoot wine tasting and samba. I can't wait till the same time next year".
